Then he went back and uncovered the true nature of God. Now, he's the new Lucifer.  What could possibly be next for Sandman Slim?"  Join us to check out Richard's newest stylish noir urban fantasy -- you'll be glad you did.

Seanan McGuire, ASHES OF HONOR (DAW, Mass Market, $7.99) Saturday, September 8th at 6:00 pm - A new October Daye novel is always reason for a celebration, so Borderlands and Hugo Award- winner Seanan McGuire invite you to come on down for more music, magic, silliness and raffle prizes!  An event with Seanan is always an Event, and this time we're happy to welcome musicians Vixy &Tony and Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff  as well as the author (and songstress) herself.  The new novel, ASHES OF HONOR, is my favorite in the series so far.  Music, faeries, cupcakes and Seanan -- what more could you ask for? (Please note that the start time of this event has been CHANGED from 5 pm to 6 pm.)

Email sfinsfevents@gmail.com.

Steven Erikson, FORGE OF DARKNESS (Tor, Hardcover, $27.99) Saturday, September 22nd at 3:00 pm - We're delighted to welcome Steven Erikson to Borderlands after a 3-year absence!  We've been fans of Steve's since the very beginning, so it's appropriate that we're hosting an event for FORGE OF DARKNESS, the first in a new Malazan trilogy.  Bring your questions and your books to be signed and make sure you don't miss it -- we hope it won't be another three years before Steve returns, but you don't want to take the chance.

Cory Doctorow, PIRATE CINEMA (Tor, Hardcover, $19.99) Thursday, October 4th at 7:00 pm - We're tremendously excited to once again welcome former local author Cory Doctorow!  Cory's new novel is another LITTLE BROTHER-style tale of teenage rebellion.  From the book jacket: "Trent McCauley is sixteen, brilliant, and obsessed with one thing: making movies on his computer by reassembling footage from popular films he downloads from the net. In the dystopian near-future Britain where Trent is growing up, this is more illegal than ever; the punishment for being caught three times is that your entire household’s access to the internet is cut off for a year, with no appeal. Trent's too clever for that too happen. Except it does, and it nearly destroys his family. Shamed and shattered, Trent runs away to London, where he slowly he learns the ways of staying alive on the streets. This brings him in touch with a demimonde of artists and activists who are trying to fight a new bill that will criminalize even more harmless internet creativity, making felons of millions of British citizens at a stroke. Things look bad. Parliament is in power of a few wealthy media conglomerates. But the powers-that-be haven’t entirely reckoned with the power of a gripping movie to change people’s minds . . . ." Now that Cory's moved to the UK, we hardly ever see him, so don't miss this chance!
